ROUTE
Your Way in Uluru Tour
Uluru is the heart of Australia and represents so much about this country: its size, its beauty and its culture. Shortly after your arrival, the unmistakable Uluru will emerge from the earth as a giant boulder. After lunch, hike to Kata Tjuta, where its 36 domes of different sizes provide a stark contrast to Uluru. You’ll get to know the landscape quite well on an afternoon excursion between the domes. As the evening unfolds, enjoy a light snack as the sun slowly sets, casting a multitude of earthy tones over Uluru. The perfect end to a remarkable day awaits you back at camp, where you can enjoy a delicious selection of food with your group. Weather permitting, sit under the stars. Day 2 Uluru Tour – Uluru Sunrise, Kata Tjuta & Kings Canyon
An early morning start is rewarded with a sunrise at Uluru as the sun hits the landmark like a lighthouse before pouring over the undulating landscape. While the morning is fresh, enjoy a walk around the base of Uluru and take in all the textures and valleys that aren’t visible from a distance. After lunch, you may be able to pick up some Aboriginal crafts at the cultural center. Continue to our exclusive campsite near Watarrka National Park (Kings Canyon) where the group will eat and sleep under the stars in your swag. Day 3 Uluru Tour – Kings Canyon Rim Walk
The main attraction of Watarrka National Park is undoubtedly Kings Canyon – a huge gorge surrounded by meter-high, sheer rock faces. With its porous sandstone, deep gorges and hidden rock pools, it provides shelter for more than 600 species of native plants and animals. Your guide will point these out on a hike that includes the gorge’s most famous sites – the Lost City, the Garden of Eden, the Amphitheater and of course the North & South Walls. After lunch, we set off again for a three-hour drive to Yulara in the late afternoon. Tonight you have the choice to enjoy one of the following optional activities: a sunset camel cruise, the Field of Lights, Sounds of Silence, the Wintjiri Wiru drone demonstration; or if you want to experience the Uluru sunset from a different perspective (and for free), today is your chance! After dinner, relax in your camp for a night under the stars. Day 4 Uluru Tour – Yulara
After a short sleep-in, enjoy a hearty breakfast at our exclusive camp. Depending on your departure time, you can choose our free 10-minute transfer directly to the Desert Gardens Hotel in Yulara or to Uluru Airport (Ayers Rock Airport, airport code: AYQ). If you have enough time before your flight, there is the option to leave your luggage at Desert Gardens Hotel and spend some free time shopping at Yulara Resort. Please note: There are regular free airport shuttles from Desert Gardens Hotel to Ayers Rock Airport.
